One of the best times of the year is the start of the 2023 NHL playoffs and this year is even better because the (hometown) Winnipeg Jets will be participating! With it brings the anticipation of excitement and hopefully competitiveness with the Jets playing the top-seeded team in the Western Conference, the Vegas Golden Knights. The first two games will be played in T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and the series travels to Winnipeg for games 3 and 4. This will be cause for much celebration as Winnipeg throws a massive street party outside the Canada Life Centre and the crowd both inside and outside the arena dress in all white for a Winnipeg White-Out! This has been a tradition going back to the Jets 1.0 era and I must admit it’s a sight and sound unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. I have attended (at least one game) the white-out every year the Jets have made the playoffs and it gives the team an extra shot of encouragement and support. I am looking forward to going to game 3 on Saturday afternoon and expect a crazy, loud and insane response from the sold-out arena and the thousands outside for the ultimate white-out party! Go Jets Go!!
To commemorate my tribute to the white-out, I made block prints titled, “White-Out” that are now on sale on my Etsy page. You don’t have to bother waiting to get it framed, you just need to hammer a nail in your wall and your picture is ready to hang in time for game 3 in Winnipeg (or sooner!) while you watch the game on TV or attend in person. These prints are hand-pulled from a hand curved print block and printed in very limited numbers (20). Each print will be signed and numbered.
